Aaaand here I go again with the creative image titles...
So I just recently started watching Game of Thrones (better late than never, eh?) and also reading the books... this is some awesome stuff! It's just that now I am constantly afraid to get too attached to any characters, because they might just get killed in the next episode and... gah! The feelings!
Anyways, this is Daenerys Targaryen a.k.a. the Khaleesi, who is awesome and will hopefully be around for a while longer. Please.
Emilia Clarke, who plays her in the series is ridiculously gorgeous so I had to paint her. Changed her eye colour though, because in the books they are purple.
I painted this in GIMP and used this screencap as a reference.

And just a tip... You'll enjoy both the series and the books more if you read the books first. The best way would be to read all five books and then come back to watch the show. I know it's hard to stop watching it when you're there, but believe me, it's worth it. Once you get ahead with the books.. you won't be able to stop
Not to mention how much better it is to watch the show when you actually know what's going on, haha! Plus, the creators themselves said you should read the books before watching the show.

Uh oh, I don't think I'll be able to stop watching the show now... I just really really want to know how the story continues. Plus I don't think my bf would be too pleased - "Yes dear, I know you just bought the DVD and all and you do want to know what happens next, but let's just wait until I finish all five books, shall we?" xD ...
Thanks for the advice though, if I weren't as weak-minded and curious I would probably listen to you.

this is absolutely stunning! I love that you changed the eye color. It's just a detail and it doesn't bother me much on the show, but I find it very nice when people think of it when doing fanart.

Always bugs me seeing her with blue eyes in the show.. A little CG or some contacts would fix this problem, but HBO is lazy.. XD Love this painting, it's fantastic work. She's one of my very favorite characters! Great job!!

I did read the books, at least into Dance with Dragons and by now I like the TV series more.

I'm still in the first book, I started watching the show and reading it at the same time. So far I think the show is a bit more thrilling, but I still have quite a lot of catching up to do with the books, so we'll see...

They are! I am reading them in English which is not my native language, but they are still fairly easy to read and very thrilling.
