Description 1hr speedpainting of the great Robin Williams that I did yesterday, still (kind of) in shock.
To be honest, I am rarely very deeply affected or moved by celebrity deaths or generally the passing of people I did not know personally. But this one truly shocked and touched me - to the point where I just had to watch "Dead Poets Society" again and literally bawled my eyes out.
Robin Williams' movies were such an integral part of my childhood and I'm sure many of you feel the same way. He just had a gift for making people happy. Still, in all the roles he played, there always seemed to be an underlying hint of sadness beneath all the funny faces and the laughter. It is devastating to realize that after all, this truly seemed to reflect his state of mind and soul.
We all lost a great one, and he will most definitely be missed. But his movies remain, and they will continue to make us laugh, albeit with the occasional tear in the corner of the eye.

This looks great! Dead Poets Society is one of my sister's favorite movies so she did the same thing and went and watched it and then cried

I was very shocked too with his death... In fact I had to see "Dead Poets Society" too, same feeling here... He was one of my favourite actors...
I cannot believe yet, is like a dream, a bad dream. Of course people die, is part of the life, but I didnt expect that Robin left us so soon.... >.<

Anyway, very beautiful drawing, really. As long we remember him , a part of him never will die.

Very true, it kinda felt like a bad dream... I think the last time that a celebrity's death seemed so unexpected to me was when Michael Jackson died. o__O
But you are right, he will be remembered.
