Awesome, I love Howl too hehe, and all the other Studio Ghibli characters- my favourite movies are- Tales from Earthsea, Princess Mononoke, Grave of the Fireflies and I love all the rest- though Only Yesterday was really boring hehe and Ocean waves was so confusing hehe, but the rest are just brilliant- best feature animations of all time

It is a Ghibli film, but it's actually based on a British children's book by Diana Wynne Jones.

Howl's Moving Castle is a movie by Hayao Miyazaki. It is one of his most famous movies, along with Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro. It is beautifully animated and the story and characters are just awesome. It is a pretty awesome movie, you shoud see it sometime.

Yep, the same thing happenened to me when I watched Spirted Away. I watched once when I was 9 and didn't saw it again until some days ago, and then I realized it was pretty darn awesome.
Yes, Princess Mononoke is from Miyazaki too. Some other movies he has are Porco Rosso, Ponyo, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Kiki's Delivery Service and Castle in the Sky. These are some of his movies, but I would recommend you to see all of Studio Ghibli (the animation studio he belongs to) movies. Well, hope this helps!

I always preferred the book too, but a friend of mine actually told me something interesting about the movie (I'm not sure if it's true or not because I haven't had time to check). According to my friend, the Japanese translation of the book was absolutely horrible, but that's the book Miyazaki read, and the one he based the movie off of. Again, not sure if it's true, but it would make a lot of sense if it is.
