This is a really great piece! However, I think it would be a miserable tattoo. Unless the tattoo is HUGE, most of the details that make this so awesome will be lost - the decoration on his sash and the inside of his cloak will be blobs. The fine details and sharp corners of the wings (the 'texture', that is) will be blurred out.
Remember that tattoos BLEED with time. For a few years, the piece will look fantastic and sharp (that is, if these details can even be done in the first place - not likely), but it will fade with time.
As a purely design opinion, the fact that his feet are unceremoniously cropped off is ... awkward. Imagine having this on your body. Bodies are not rectangles. They do not have neat boxes your art will fit into. The feet are just supposed to... disappear? End?
Really, this is fantastic! Honestly, artistically, creatively (LOVE the face in his wing!!). But as a tattoo, I'm not convinced.
