I been sad lately about this serious, my journal says somethings about this, but yeahs. This is my idea about something to happen in the story..

Jin and Ichigo are given a very important mission.. so they have to leave for two years. As you say in my one picture what they felt about somethings. This is why they took the mission to get away for awhile...

While on the Mission, Ichigo was pregnant with her son Tai. She tried to tell Kai before and alot after she left and while she was on the mission.. but he never was there.. So Jin steped in and took the responsiblities as a dad figure. No him and Ichigo do not love each other, Jin loves Rayne-chan, and Ichigo loves Kai.

This pic is of Jin with 2 year old Tai, Tai looks so much like Kai. Jin does this everyday talk to him while putting his hair up. Jin grew his out a bit, but not to his 16 year old self's hair style. He is 18 in this picture.
