It's hard to describe, but i'll try. The stanzas with just two lines are meant to be read with alot more intensity, or aggression. The rest of it are just like you said, kind of dancing around until the finish.

okay, I think I'm starting to get a feel for it. How do you break it up for timings? Do you pause at each line break, read through some and pause at others?

I pause after stanzas rather than individual lines, but when I read it I don't really think about all that too much. It's all about feeling it.
