Practice, again. Now I stepped up to limited palette, earth tones. I made a mistake on the bottom center footprint, where I was experimenting smoke. I picked the wrong color, burnt sienna instead of the burnt umber I used elsewhere. That patch is really out of the place, but since that whole patch is in one layer, it would take quite some work to fix it. Let's just leave it be. I also tried to suggest landslide, with limited success. It took me quite a while to get the girl's arms right.

This is my first finished colored sketch. Earthtone, yes, but colored. I am happy with the results. I am slowly getting over the bane of drawing light and colored objects. I have a tendency to make shadows too dark and dull.

The palette has just seven colors, and everything are mixed on canvas. Six colors are around the range from Raw Sienna to Burnt Sienna and Burnt Umber, with the seventh a cool black like Lamb Black (which is actually a very deep blue here). Of course, being a digital medium means these are not real pigments. I simply assigned names based on what they look like.
