Well in mythology, Pan was a faun like creature or "god" who was sent to gaurd this Labrynth thing from people and occasionally tricked people into getting lost in the Labrynth or something like that...I'm not a Nerd on it or anything but, Pan was a "god" of trickery and games. He loved to trick people even if it caused death. Which is kinda why I thought that he was Pan gaurding the Labrynth and tricking that girl into killing herself or the baby... he didn't care which. And then again I could be tottally wrong. Look it up on Wikipedia if you want for more info on Pan.
