Very nice! I love his expression... The colors are great, very colorful and smoothly blended. Lines are cool, too. ^_^ I love those eyes... Poor guy, he looks like he's been through a lot to me and we're looking at this from the point of view of a teacher or someone that's trying to reach out to him. And he's glaring before he runs off, "You don't understand me!..." That's what I saw anyway.

most people just get the standard stlye down and then build on it to try and make it look good. yours are good from the original sketch lines!

*looks up at all the previous posts* You better start believing you're good since it is true. You're composition is great. You chose a good, limited color palette of warms, you cropped it well, kept the figure as the focal point without centering him entirely, the coat swirling around is a nifty original design that helps frame and helps the viewer realize that this isn't just a frozen picture, that there is movement. Sure, the forehead's a bit short, but the extra hair makes it even (remember that rule of the eyes being in the center? his eyes are in the center of his head, no worries!). And I really like the rolling, abstract background with the setting/rising colors. The stratus clouds are very nicely done (hey, sometimes simple is the only way to go!), and the shooting star is just cool. I love his expression, and the eyes are beautiful to look at. You did the coat very well, looks like it was painted with oils. Very well done! Be proud! As you may have noticed, other people are proud of you and your work.
