Your drawings are so alive. I love how you use textures and make details. Also, the design is very creative. Specially her skin color and make up.

Intresting cloth.
Looks like the naga is a priest....or something close to that
And the colour of the scales is very nice too.

Well ... I can explain why, but I will have to give you multiple answers and it all depends on what answer you are seeking I suppose.
So first, the "art/science" answer: Consider your creature in motion. Obviously it would not lower itself to the ground to move the way a normal snake does. The majority of the body portion you have posed upright now probably *stays* upright as this individual moves along. That means the tail needs to be long enough to allow for the "S" motion that would propel such weight. I've only ever a cobra move this way (most snakes drop back to the ground if they intend to move any distance), but it clearly took it quite a bit of effort to maintain both its threatening pose and its speed while moving forward. It's proportions were about 1/4 upright to 3/4 slithering behind to do the propulsion. I should think this creature, with the added weight of a humanoid skeletal structure and being top heavy, needs quite a tail to be able to move at all.
Second, the mythological answer: Naga, especially in the mythos of Cappadocia, are described as having serpentine lower bodies long enough to loop around a human with enough strength to hold them captive.
And lastly, the spritiual answer: You remember us having a longer serpentine structure. There is no need to accenctuate the humanity and lessen the monstrocity. We were unequally balanced by design.

Ой, забыла, что можно по-русски прокомментировать . Замечательная работа, особенно мне нравится украшение на голове, посох и орнамент на одежде.
