here's my final entry for DW mini which must show the mesh and texture and a beauty shot on one sheet))))) so...

I have a little question: How did you manage, that these flames-parts in his clothes end transparent, while in the texture they end violet?

For smoke and clothes i used alpha channel which works like a mask. You just paint up all parts you don't want to show.

Wonderful entry! great use of poly's and UV Layout and absolutely wonderful translation of your style into 3d! Only crits i have is the flame on the pedestal could use to look a bit more 3d and i wish the hands where modeled open but i imagine it was to save time from rigging. i'd be super proud to have finished with such a hi quality piece, congrats!

I made his hands in a fists due to low polycount - 3k tris, so i could spend my polys in other places.

про Вас говорили, что Вы матёрый художник ) хоть я ошибочно и представила старца с телосложением викинга вооружённого кистями и красками Х) Вы не старец но рисуете очень здорово.

ну это была моя фантазия Х) уверена, что бороду вам будет очень сложно отрастить XD так, что не заморачивайтесь, а просто радуйте своим искусством и дальше <(^-^)> и знайте, что у вашего творчества есть надёжные поклонники )
