May I ask you a question that has been driving me mad for the past hours? How do you unwrap the uvs so straight? Whatever method I use they look good but not perfect like these, they look more like whichever form the object has. And when I manually move the vertex to make that shape the uv looks distorted

Everything done by hand. I don't mind some distortion, because I paint my textures in 3d coat, and it helps to avoid any problems with texture and having UV optimized in the same time.

So if you apply a checker texture to your model the squares aren't so perfect? Because that's te problem I have, I have to choose between almost perfect squares but uvs with weird shapes or uvs like yours but completely distorted.
It's curious to me that you use a method that would make your life much easier if you had to paint the textures in Photoshop, only you don't need them to be so perfect because you use 3d coat. Of course it will always be better for optimization though

I use checker for checking on equal texture resolution for different UV's shells mostly. My main goal for in-game hand-painted art is optimization and efficient UV space usage for getting best resolution on details I could for my texture, with maximum avoiding of distortions, but as I've mentioned it's not a problem with painting in 3d coat, Deep Paint or any other type "3d texture projections" programs. Photoshop has same 3d painting function as well, pretty wacky though.

I understand... and I suppose the way you do it you don't have much aliasing problems. Thanks a lot, I'll try to do it that way next time

Bloody wicked skin.
All the skin are painted like in photoshop or something before importing to the 3d program like 3Ds max?

It's a hand paint texture
