I don't know why, but something tells me it's female. Maybe it's actually the protector of that little city right there?

That's actually my interpretation, more or less. Though I think the dragoness might be worshipped as a patron goddess within the city. (At THAT size and power, it fits!)

Maybe. Perhaps she denies being such(after all, just because you're a mountain-sized, possibly long-living being doesn't necessarily mean you are a god; she's just REALLY durable)?

I'd think she goes along with it to an extent: lets her keep any cults/followers in check, and provides a nice stream of treasure from offerings and tribute. (She IS still a dragoness, after all.)

Furthermore, maybe she's a mother goddess, meaning that she often sees the tinies who worship her as her children?

I can imagine what would happen when she notices that her charges are being raided by marauders of some sort...
Dragon!Goddess: Ahem.(Leader of the marauder band looks up and notices the mountain-sized dragoness towering over the city that he and his comrades are sacking...and that they were currently in. Her booming yet surprisingly calm voice echoes over the island)Excuse me, but I believe that those mortal creatures that, in your infinite wisdom, you deemed as your targets are, in fact, my followers AND my children. Believe it or not, their goddess is not as false as you might think. Regardless, I'm willing to grant some modicum of mercy upon you if you accept a, say...ten minute head-start to leave this island permanently and never return to its shores. If not? Well...let's just say I'm not hesitant to use more drastic measures...(paws at the ground once and growls in an intimidating way, rumbling the island and the city's foundations)

(And she didn't...as long as they lived as her personal servants, tending to such things as helping repair the damage they caused to the city, under her constant watch no less, as well as serving a lifetime as her..."toys".)

(Indeed. Doubly so if she managed to capture the Marauder leader before he could escape...I imagine that he'd be cartoonishly plastered to the sole of her foot for, say...50 years? 100 perhaps?

(Maybe not...she's likely trying to avoid being perceived as a vengeful goddess, so she'd try and stick to 'retribution' that could be made to look funny. I.e., flattening.)

(And then afterwards maybe she simply gets up and thunders off, telling the leader to stay in the crater left behind by her sitting down and think about what he's done in a matronly fashion? XD)
