As far as I know, Bandai sugested a redesign for all the Cloths in order to make 'em more accurate to sell action figures. They made the writers like Yoshiyuki Suga and Takao Kohyama to discard the order of how the Cloths look depending on the Bronze-Silver squads. I would like to see an OVA series telling the Galaxian Wars with the original designs and story by Kurumada just like his manga, but with the araki designs.

Hi! Yeah, I'm aware of that. I just tried to mix the concept of both materials: The original from Kurumada and the anime by the Araki-Himeno duo in one. I like the full orange Phoenix cloth. It looks so powerful. But I love the anime version as well for the nostalgia factor.
