Ah, Megas. Such a complex villain.
In the first versions of Valis II, you were indeed a ruthless and iredeemable devil, taking pleasure on the suffering of others while they're vulnerable and utterly evil.
Then, in later versions, your character grew. A more complex background was given to you and an explanation was given to your cyborg body and your real motivations. In the end, you turned out to be a tragic character seeking what you perceived to be rightfully yours.
I'd love for someone to make a comic telling the story about Valis II and taking aspects of both versions of the game. A story in which Megas is feared by the denizes of Vecanti for the rumored atrocities he inflicted upon his family, only for it all to be revealed a lie right at the end, something spread by his devious brother Rogles to cover his usurpation and the help of his father (who I would have die while struggling to seal Megas in another dimension). Then, Yuko's vision about Megas would totally change. Whereas once she saw a murderous demon much like Rogles, she would now see a tragic person who got lost in life and, maybe, could've been saved from that. Much like Reiko, her best friend.
