anyway... prepare yourself this is going to be long.

The best thing you can do is to find a reference that resembles what you want to draw.
Look for a photo with a hair style you like that might aid you, and blend it in your artwork.

If you can't find a reference just try to figure out how the hair will fall, divide it to strands and take to consideration how the light hits each one. Also important is the type of hair. Notice that straight hair and curly or wavy hair brake light a bit different from each other.

actually my reference was a small picture of Catharine Zeta Jones. that is her neck and lips... all other features are well made up. (still I did alot of mistakes with)
