Collin:

Little more than a frail, weak, or almost impish looking boy for his age, at least upon first glance, he is known in the nearby villages as minion of the Poison witch, Viveld, in truth merely being her errand boy; he was sent to Viveld in his childhood when she herself was very young as well, she being only a handful of years older than him; his family, hoping that the witch had some sort of cure for his condition, offered what they could and pleaded with her; she agreed, but was horrified upon learning the harsh reality of the situation; for, in fact, Collin had been attacked and infected with the " plague of beasts", being known to dwell within its host for years, developing slowly until the host finally morphed into the same terrible, bloodthirsty monster that has given them the disease, attacking unsuspecting innocents in their wake; Collin's family had come to Viveld in sheer desperation, there being no other assured cure or solution aside from execution of the host, it being Collin's fate was not to be found; Though she accepted, she too knew full well there was no cure in all of the lands they dwelled in; thus, not wanting the boy to be murdered, nor wishing for the destruction of hundreds of lives, she chose to fake Collin's apparent death to his parents, showing them the corpse of the 'would be' blood beast that she claimed was their already transformed son, hoping that Collin could enjoy what years he had left, being too far away from major settlements to cause any real damage if he were to morph; since then, Viveld has taken care of Collin and taught him much of what she knows about poisons, potions, and plants; though, for good measure, he has little contact with the world at large and almost never travels beyond the forests or wild lands, much less without Viveld, he is quite content with his life and is quite fond of both it and Viveld, seeing her as family; given the possible psychological ramifications, no one, not even Viveld, has told Collin of his disease or his fate, Viveld herself, though growing more worried, simply telling him shallow excuses if he is to show any symptoms of his condition; with his illness growing worse and Viveld feeling the pressures of her time with Collin slowly running thin, she is confronted by the Leapers by the direction of Helper in order to try and find a cure, hoping that their abilities and "other-worldliness" might allow them more knowledge or material to help combat the strained time, if not, Collin would transform and need to be killed immediately, which Viveld herself cannot bear to even think of; Collin himself is cautious and at times softspoken, but mostly friendly and positive, as if overly innocent given his current circumstances; However, upon the summoning of the leapers, his growing symptoms have caused him to become more self aware, paranoid, and afraid, often asking Viveld if he can sleep near or next to her to try and reduce the likelihood and severity of his recent string of nightmares
