People in Michigan are trying to ban pit bulls... its sad.. Not all pit's are mean!!! i have one myself
he is the biggest lover boy you would ever meet!! and they are banning them?! its wrong because it inst the dogs it is the way their owners train them.. SAVE THEM!!

Not Michigan. A small town named Ionia in Michigan. I live here and I have a pit bull puppy (her pic in my gallery) and I went there to stop the ban. We won! THANK YOU. I don't live in Michigan, but the state I live in has banned pit bulls in many of the cities here (thankfully not mine). I don't own a pit personally, but I've seen some that were being fostered through the rescue group I volunteer for and they are such sweet dogs.

Agreee with ya ^^ and they were breed for fighting but usually i dont really hear about too many people making pit's fight but im sure it stil happens. i mean how can u ban a dog what if the owners really love tht dog and they take it away from them it would be wrong!!

It is sad, and I agree that animals should not be banned as long as owners can prove they can keep them under control, but the breed was technically breeded to fight and they can be a bit violent. But hat doesn't mean they should be banned. HOWEVER, on my soapbox a little. Guns are technically protected by the Bill of Rights, we have a right to bear arms and they legally cannot ban them. Automobiles...would be silly. The government gets a shitton off the taxes for oil, don't expect that any time soon and so many people smoke that if you banned that, the people would rebel and that would be bad. Not to mention the government would lose yet more money on the ridiculous cigarette tax they have.

Pits donβt need controlling it's the people! Raincheck: pits were originally bred as bull bait, in the 1800's. Immigrants brought pittys over seas during the early American history. They were entrusted with the duty of protecting children and the home. Bully breeds physically are unable to make as many facial expressions as other dogs and are usually misunderstood. Pitbulls are about as nice as it gets. They're among the most tolerant dogs tested by the ATTS (American Temperament Test Society). The only dog with a higher tolerance was a Labrador retriever. I'm privileged to live with a pitty right now, he's the sweetest dog you'll ever meet.

I don't agree about pitbulls being bred to fight. They were bred to carry messages during the war. They are just used to fight.

Either way, they're still pretty aggressive and while I do not think they should be banned, they do need some harsher restrictions on who can own them and also some ownership laws such as not being able to take them to parks. It might be harsh but they're more aggressive than most breeds.

the only reason some pits are agressive is because the owners either trained them to be that way or the owner is just.. well not very goos with dogs. and i agee that they can be a lil rough at times but most dogs can be just as rough too. my dad used to breed pits and they wer the most lovbale dogs i could ever have.. its a shame we had to get rid of all of em

If you met my pitbull you would think they're just like any other breed.
They only want to please so they fight to fiercely.
