Thanks for the comment..It is indeed a beautifull boat, but built for rough weather in the North Atlantic, rather than a quiet cruise in a Venice channel..

For sure I love that painting... how couldn't I   (as a wooden boatbuilder)

It's great how you bring composition and technical finess together.
Painting a boat in the harbour without showing the sky is a challenge... the horizon is outside the painting...
All feels natural and in balance...
And wow look at the fish unter the boat...stunning.
Yeah and finally the waterreflection of the white clinker built boat... not easy indeed.

Henrik this is a fantastic painting... and the fact that it was a commission from a friend dubbles the joy...
I am sure he got super happy

Thanks, Dominik! This traditional boat, is primarily used for fishing at the faroe Islands and in older times for transportation between the isolated isles..It is extremely seaworthy and considered to be one of the most flawless boat designs..I was considering to add a few seagull’s, but eventually went for the codfish instead..
