*resolves to use this technique...eventually* I'm glad you did this, I've always wondered how you got your amazing color effects.

Ok, looks like the "Your art would look better without the gaussian blur!" is a pet peeve of yours. Your original sketch already has a smooth, dreamy quality to it; you don't really need the additional blur step. Any time your defense is "It's my style," it's a sign you need to calm down, look at the comment as something other than an attack on you and your art, take a step back, and ask yourself why you're actually doing it. If the goal is a wider line, I'd use a larger lead size (if you use mechanical pencils) or switch over to traditional pencils, or possibly just draw smaller. Without sharp lines or clear contrast of color areas (After the blur, you have neither - the saturated red-brown tone of the skin alongside the warm, saturated green is confusing to look at without edges that draw the eye, and there isn't much light/dark contrast in the shading to make up for it.) If you're stuck on that blur, decrease the amount by at least 50%

I've taken a glance through your gallery (sampling about one deviation a page) and checked how much you've been blurring the lineart. It looks like you've been increasing the amount of blur you like to use over time. You might want to get your vision checked; I started doing a similar thing back before I got glasses...

I'm not trying to attack you or your art. You're very skilled, more than I am, at least; you're just doing something that's not helping you showcase your ability

wow! looking at it, I think I liked your work better without the blur! the rough sketches are really nice and sharp and you can focus more on the detail. of course your work is lovely any way, but just something to consider maybe!

ah, just read the other comments, keep in mind it's ok to experiment.

I love your art! Though I agree with GemFeathers about the blur effect - but it always turns out perfect anyway!

I personally think your art would look nicer without the gaussian blur step, you lose a lot of nice detail and it makes it hard to focus on.
But either way, your art is still very emotive, keep it up <:
