Making Fiends started out as a web series in 2003 created by Amy Winfrey. It got its own series from Nickelodeon and came out in 2008 before getting canceled with only 6 half hours to air. Sad thing is that Amy doesn’t even have the rights to it anymore which just feels wrong, but oh well let’s see how the show was.

I’ve never seen the webseries but from what I’ve heard the show is pretty much the same except it's less dark than the webseries. If that’s true then wow. Because this show can still be pretty dark. Dark humor is part of making fiend’s thing, which is cool because you don’t see that often in a Nicktoon (or see any of their shows based on a web series really). So what is this show about? Two girls name Charlotte and Vendetta, one is nice the other is evil. That’s it. There’s more going on in the background but that’s what sums it up as a whole. The show is very simple, like very very simple. Every episode is the same thing, nice girl tries to befriend evil girl, evil girl can’t get rid of her. It's rather repetitive, isn't it? Well it is, it's the most repetitive show I’ve seen on nickelodeon however I don’t think the show is entirely bad. I do like the dark humor as mentioned before and the animation is nice and charming. Oh and the segments are only 6 mins each so it makes it hard for me to really dislike any episode when it doesn’t even last that long.

Overall this show is MEH. I don’t know if I would like the web series any better, I get the appeal but this isn’t for me. While there are some good aspects in here, the show’s repetitiveness is a huge problem for me. But still, this show isn’t bad compared to some other nicktoons that are aggravating to watch. Regardless of what I thought about the show and the show's quality, I still feel bad for Amy and how this show got mistreated with no promos hyping it up.
