Description
Fanart for The Relic.I read The Cabinet of Curiousities the other day and was all giddy over that and so I dragged out my other Preston/Child books, and then I remembered a sketch I had done a long time ago of the Mbwun, Pendergast, and D'Agosta.
So I pulled it out and cleaned it up and slapped some color on it. Perhaps a bit too much color. I don't remember what color the Mbwun actually was or if it was described in that much detail at all, so I went with a greeny-gray kinda thing. Is it a lizard or a primate? It's He Who Walks on All Fours.

It took me awhile to merge Tom Sizemore from the movie with the actual description of him in the books to come up with a headcanon for him.Β

I love the Mbwun.
Good work on Pendergast and D'Agosta!

Thanks! I think I'd like to redo it eventually, but not until I'm sure I could do better.

Heh, I've only seen two or three episodes of Dresden Files... but I've read The Relic about ten!

So far, the best representation of the Mbwun I've found. One of my favorite books!

Thanks! I love the book! Not so much the movie... but the movie creature was cool.

Yeah. But the movie creature was so off of what it was supposed to be. And it wasn't even in New York. I was disappointed.

There is that. Still, they seem to be remaking every other movie under the sun, maybe there's hope for a book-accurate Relic one day.

Thus far the BEST Pendergast I have yet to see on DA. Good job at capturing the character.

Thank you! I just got Wheel of Darkness, so maybe it'll inspire some more.

I love it! Pendergast looks fantastic and very much like I pictured him and D'Agosta is surprisingly perfect as well! It's a great book series, even if I did come into in it in Brimstone and then had to buy the others. the only one I don't have is Relicary(sp?) the sequel to Relic

Thanks! Reliquary is a good one, too. I should do more fanart for the series. I did do some silly doodles of all the characters as cats, but I don't even know where that went. (Perhaps for the best.)

I heard it was excellent, my favorite out of the series so far has been Cabinet of Curosities and Book of the Dead, but I got to read an expert of their new book last night, which looks REALLY good, 'Wheel of Darkness' and hey, Pendergast as a cat, may be cute.

Whoa, sweetness! Pendergast looks super-pale, but I love the way you drew him. A lot of people make him too girly, but you drew him right; in other words, freaky but cool. They all look great, actually. Wouldn't want to run into any of them on a bad day. Awesome job!

Thanks! I love those books. I based Pendergast on Adrien Brody, minus the sad puppy eyes. Or at least I tried to! I don't think they came out looking that much alike... Oh well!

I've read "Cabinet of Curiosities", "Still life with Crows", "Brimstone" and "Dance of Death" and I'm waiting for "Book of the Dead" (I know that I misspelled the title somehow...) to be published in my country
