Did you know? Gojira comes from the Japanese word for whale (kojira クジラ) and the Japanese translation of gorilla (gorira ゴリラ), making it Gojira. It's original design was officially confirmed to look like a human like dinosaur. It's English name is most likely due to people thinking Gojira was the Japanese trying to say Godzilla due to a stereotype where the Japanese pronounce L's as R's like R's and R's like L's
