As much as you're entitled to your opinion, and you have the right to say how you feel. It appears to me that you fail to understand that Tom is meant to be the antagonist, and Jerry and Tuffy are meant to be the protagonists.

I was okay with most of the episode but the last moment where Tom is implied to be decapitated literally scarred me as a kid.

I think The Two Mouseketeers should’ve not get a nomination at the awards in 1952,I think another great cartoon could take its place as a one of the nominees like another Tom and Jerry from 1951,His Mouse Friday, Tex Avery’s One Cab Family,Warner Bros’ Rabbit Fire(which was copyrighted 1951),Ballot Box Bunny, or Gift Wrapped,Walter Lantz’ Woody Woodpecker Cartoon”Slingshot 6 7/8”,Mr.Magoo’s Sloppy Jalopy and even Paramount’s Famous Studios, which was the only cartoon studio during the golden age of animation that has never been nominated or never won a Oscar for best animated short, but they deserve to be nominated if the Acadamy accepted any of their shorts, since they would occasionally have a great standout Short like these:
POPEYE THE SAILOR:
Alpine For You
Let’s Stalk Spinach
Pilgrim Popeye

NOVELTOON:
By Leaps of Hounds
One Quack Mind
Land of The Lost Watches
Audrey The Rainmaker

CASPER:
To Boo Or Not To Boo

SCREEN SONGS:
Sing Again of Michigan

I've always taking Tom and Jerry as a neutral approach. I don't root for any side. So this cartoon doesn't have an affect on me. I thought Johann Mouse was the underwhelming one.

I heard that Disney's "Lambert the Sheepish Lion" lost to that cartoon. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambert_…

I wish "Lambert the Sheepish Lion" would have won, but hey, that's life.

I've always been on Jerry's side, and this one is no exception. I have no problems with it.

Good GOD, this episode horrified me as a child. I remember cringing when I watched that guillotine drop, and it was implied that Tom got DECAPITATED.

And this is usually why I prefer Tom over Jerry.

Oh dear... I think I fell victim to this episode once...

Meanwhile, Tom & Jerry Tales actually has Tom win a couple times, but in exchange for that, the slapstick isn't as funny as in the original series... (but it's still hilarious compared to the movie)

I really had no problems with this growing up. It was just another T&J short to me.
