Been real out of it lately, but I'm doing alright. Full time work has been extremely detrimental to my mental health, although recently I was told that my time working my current job would be coming to an end. To keep things short, I'm a VFX artist and the studio I work for downsized the budget, laying off several artists. Contrary to how the news was delivered, I silently rejoiced knowing I'd get some free time again, until the realistic stress of being unemployed hit. As of this week, plans have changed and it looks like they're not dropping me after all, so... yay...? I'm pretty happy to keep my job, but man, I need a break (a LONG one).

This seems to have affected my motivation when it comes to making art. I started an artwork which is currently on hold, and made this one in the meantime and almost forgot about it. As the unusually straight-forward title suggests, this is the Firecracker variant of Jinx from League. An obscure pick, but the design ticks the boxes for me.

The style doesn't quite align with what I've been trying recently, and I don't expect it'll align with whatever is next. I've been experiencing a big slope in the workflow of my art, where I begin extremely motivated- which is immediately lost on me after completing the sketch. Shading has been a real chore on my mind, and so I'll likely be playing around with my methodology throughout the next few pieces.

Would love to try and have a small Fortnite related artwork ready for Easter, so... see you then(?)!
