To whet your appetite for Heroineburgh Comics issue 4, here's a completed art panel (sans lettered balloon) by interior artist wayneabrown35 showing the valiant heroine Cybrina trapped inside a hostile cyberspace realm.

Some background narrative:

Computer coder Sabrina Walters has a secret superhuman identity as Cybrina, queen of cyberspace, while her friend, mechanical engineer Dr. Kimberly Chiang, is the masked superheroine called X-Machina, mistress of machines.

In issue 3, Cybrina and X-Machina suit up and respond to an after-hours alarm at Sabrina's workplace, Cybertech Industries. They find the security guard has been strangely knocked out by asphyxiation.

Suddenly, the heroine partners are attacked on both sides by the evil duo of Drake and Vaporia, the husband and wife team who are co-leaders of the criminal Black Faction. The villains attempt to disarm the two heroines and make their high-tech powers useless.

Vaporia tries to choke Cybrina with her deadly smoke, but the heroine quickly transmutes herself into living data and escapes into the nearest computer, traveling into the byways of the Internet. Vaporia curses at herself for not remembering to plan for Cybrina's cybernavigation powers.

Meanwhile, though, Drake is having much more success. He has shot X-Machina with a special nanobot raygun developed by his genius brother, Craniac (aka Craig). The nanobot swarm floods the computer systems of X-Machina's power suit.

Helpless to resist the nanobot onslaught, X-Machina levitates into the air, paralyzed as her mind and body are taken over by the tiny machines, and her suit transmutes into a shiny silver costume. A few seconds later, she is no longer human, but rather a techno-organic cybernetic organism, whose only purpose is to obey the Black Faction and destroy the Heroine League.

Kimberly Chiang has unwillingly transformed into the evil ULTRA-MACHINA! And she speeds off into the sky to accomplish her mission of defeating the heroines.

Meanwhile, Cybrina has traveled through the Internet and arrived safely at the Heroine League headquarters in the top two floors of the Cathedral of Learning skyscraper. She returns to her smaller and weaker civilian form as Sabrina Walters, and then types her findings into the League computers, hoping to reach a conclusion about what happened to X-Machina.

Sabrina doesn't have long to wait, as the cyborg Ultra-Machina, levitating in the air on her magnetic fields, arrives at the Cathedral. The villainess taunts the heroines to come and fight her, so she can crush them for good and usher in an era of techno-organic supremacy. Moonlight mistress Lunessa, the monitor on duty at the League office, puts out an emergency call for an A-list threat.

The three intrepid heroines Jinniyya, Poderosa and Arctica quickly answer the call and rush to the scene to engage Ultra-Machina from both the air and the ground, being careful not to harm one of their own. Sabrina emerges from the computer lab and looks out the window, just in time to see Jinniyya and Arctica defeated by Ultra-Machina's punishing rays of heat and electricity.

Poderosa, meanwhile, gets pummeled so brutally by Ultra-Machina that she crashes right through the wall of the building, ending up in the hallway outside the Crime Lab. "Oh, no!" worries Sabrina. "I'm the only one left here at headquarters who is healthy enough to help!"

Hiding just around the corner in the hallway, Sabrina proclaims her mantra "CYBRINA TRANSFORM!" and immediately, the friendly nanobots hidden deep within her rise back to the surface, augmenting her muscular strength and returning her average physique to its shapely and stunning superhuman level. Her fingers crackle with the electricity she generates inside the mitochondria of the cells in her hands.

As her frame expands, Sabrina strains against her office clothing which is becoming very tight and constrictive. But before it rips and tears, the nanobots provide a solution, transmuting the mundane cotton fabric into an enticing blue spandex catsuit with red-lined trim.

Her colorful costume encases her body very tightly, showcasing all of her attractive assets, yet allows her complete freedom of movement. "I feel so much more powerful in this form," Sabrina assures herself, "but I can't forget my signature hairstyle!"

Sabrina's hair brightens from brown to neon blue, and her eyes, surrounded by a red mask, flash with jolts of energy. She has once again become the formidable cyberpunk superheroine known as Cybrina, ready to rush to the rescue of her fellow heroines.

Cybrina turns the corner and witnesses Ultra-Machina cruelly torturing Poderosa by shooting flames at the vulnerable soles of her feet. Poderosa screams "Aaaaarrrggghhh!" in agony at the pain, and Cybrina knows she has to act quickly.

Lunging forward, Cybrina envelops Ultra-Machina around the waist from behind, and transforms into living bits and bytes of data, allowing her to enter the nanobot systems of the cyborg herself.

Rematerializing inside the hostile cyber-realm of Ultra-Machina techno-organic body, she is almost immediately attacked by an army of dragonfly drones that Ultra-Machina's control processor has sent to annihilate her.

Cybrina battles the deadly drones with her lightning bolts of electric shock. She has some success in combating her foes, as several of the drones explode, but will she be strong enough to rescue her friend X-Machina from the enslavement by the cyborg nano-intelligence?
