Description One of the primary reasons for building the Forth bridge the way it stands today was to give rail passengers a lot of psychological reinforcement in the wake of the Tay bridge disaster. If you look carefully, you can see some workers standing on the rail deck, barely visible. Even a train is less than half the height of the suspended truss. Everything about the bridge is massive. It certainly has stood the test of time, as it continues to host trains after more than 100 years.

Visual Strength indeed! This gives a great view of part of the Forth...

Yeah. I wanted to try and provide a unique perspective on the Forth bridge, and I haven't seen any pictures of only one sixth of the bridge before, and that little island with its castle completely dwarfed by the superstructure just called out to my zoom lens. Thanks for checking it out.

It looks quite impressive from the inside of a train as well, but this picture is just, if I may use this often-overused term, epic.

Very impressive! It would be cool to see a steam locomotive going across it.

Yeah. We'll just have to rely on the UK railfans to capture that special moment. Thanks for the fave. (^_^)

You're welcome! It would be cool to see a Gresley class streamline locomotive crossing that bridge. [link]
