Beautiful, I would love to live there (without the T-Rex of course).

We have a magnificent planet. What have we done with it...

Fascinating how its rendered in UE4.Β  Β Do you think you'll try rendering in Blender EEVEE?

This big of a scene in one render would be a nightmare in blender. Unreal renders the entire scene in about 10 seconds with Ansel. Render dimensions is also unlimited.

Interesting to know. But have you considered trying it with Blender EEVEE which is similar to unreal engine(real time graphics shaders rather than path traced), and do you know about Alt+D in Blender to create instances of the same object without increasing memory use in the render, so you could have 1 million trees with no problems. Also adaptive subdivision, but thats still a bit experimental?

1.) Does it render in 30 seconds @ 5k x 5k resolution?
2.) The environments I purchase in Unreal marketplace are for commercial use and it's as easy as drag & drop my dino in.

Blender is a 3d program (designed mostly for modeling and animating) while Unreal is an engine that can handle all these assets in a huge open world and give you realt ime feedback on lighting. I understand both Blender and 3DS max can render out large scenes but there are products better suited to do so. The ease of use, time to render, asset library, and render time leave me no reason to try anything else.

5K X5K in 30 secs yes it probably could easily, i seem to remember doing large test renders on it and it takes just a few seconds 10 at the most.

However the Blender the program might not suit you or handle things as well as unreal. But still its worth watching this real time(not pre-rendered) example of blender for render speed its real time like 15fps or something.Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxrwx7… orΒ www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH7-zO… orΒ www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFXtk1… .

I personally do support the theory that the T-Rex was a pack hunter and a scavenger. There might have been some subspecies that were exclusively scavengers, but I think this pack hunting image is more true to life. Speaking of which, I think they might be eyeing those two fighting alamosauruses. If one gets injured in a fight, it's game over.

artwork is awesome, but t-res don't hunted a sauropods, he is carnivore what created to kill nodosaurids, ankilosaurids and ceratopsids, not saurupods

I thought grass didn't exist in the time of the dinosaurs? Still very good, but it's a pretty big inconsistency that I couldn't help but comment on.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Herschel-Hoffmeyer In reply to Thrawn523 [2018-10-12 07:57:52 +0000 UTC]

They use to believe that since there was no evidence before and I represented that in my older art for the most part. Then recently they have evidence that not only did grass exist in the late cretaceous, some dinosaurs fed on it.

Thrawn523 In reply to Pen-In-Black [2018-10-12 15:55:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow, really? Guess Walking with Dinosaurs had it wrong all this time. I remember the creators talking about the difficulties of finding the perfect locations for filming the series due to the fact that grass hadn't evolved yet. I guess they still would've had difficulties since it only evolved in the late stages of the Cretaceous Period, but that information probably would've been useful.

Yes, the ones in the back of the pack are about half the size as the ones in front. The perspective doesn't help make the juveniles in the back look smaller.
