So, the serpents of old were normally pretty docile, maybe, even though they were predators, and that's why the humans were dangerous? And they were docile until humans started hunting them, causing them to gradually become more hostile, maybe?
If the serpents were normally gentle, and didn't know if the new humans were dangerous or not, then it would be a big problem.

Well I suppose the Serpents of old were the same as any dangerous animal we have in our world-- like bears or lions or somethin--- they generally keep to their own, don't go LOOKING for conflict with the humans.... buuut because of their intelligence and beautiful skins, the humans took slaughtering them as a sorta game and wealth-gain.
Soooo now...the serpents have DEFINITELY become dangerous for humans XD. As you saw with the poor humans from the prologue T^T

Yes I guess that was sorta the inspiration all those years ago for these guys XD-- of course I purposefully didn't wanna make this any sort of symbolic story. Complicates things too much XDD
