Description Young balerinas before their first big performance behind the stage. Very little light and a LOT of motion. Everyone running around and yelling.
I thought this displays the mood of the whole place. Does it?

the angle of this shot works perfectly with the chaotic feeling put off by this greenroom shot (or whatever it is). i love the slight focus range.

it certainly does display the mood and atmosphere of the entire thing. believe me, i was in dance classes for probably 11-ish years, and i clearly recall the changeroom hustle and rush; the glitter, red lipstick, and tightly-pulled back buns. an incredible rush, it really is. the colours here are intense.

i didn't see this one, amazing, very 'feminine'. i like the colors and the composition, the way you play with the blur. great job

A very aptly named titled for indeed, there is a "dance of colors" in this shot. The franetic hustle of motion behind the sceens is well captured. The blur of some of the perfomers captures the feel of anticipation and expectation that occurs before each performance. Ah, I remember some of my theatre days and this perfectly captures the "hustle of motion" to prepare, to relax, to worry, to perform.

you seem to have such a variety of stylistic approaches - your gallery is mixed with quite diverse subject matter and compostional style. saying that, i believe this is your most successful photo. there's a small amount of dead space there to the lower left and the subject is slightly losing my eye's attention, but aside from that the framing and colour palatte is stunning. i would like to see more photos like this from you. why not work on a series of such images?

Awesome! I love the sharpness of the one still face in this sea of motion. I think it captures the moment brilliantly.

It's been said before, but I definitely think my favorite part of this is the stopped girl in the center... almost a statement of everything's moving but ME.

The only thing I'd change, although this is a really picky detail, is the framing... I think it ought to be a bit wider, but that's just my stupid picky self.

Well done.

I love teh motion in this. Everything is in motion other than the young girl on the ground looking at you... she is in perfect focus. Good work on this image.

great shot Alina. Wish the camera angle was on the horizontal plane, but that is my personal preference. Seen b&w pictures like this before. Always a nice twist on photojournalism.

Beautiful...classic ballet...contrast and rich color really create the pic...and the motion that surrounds the innocent, still focal point is perfect. Great work My compliments.

erm...i don't think this is successful VISUALLY (technically, yes...great technique there!). by visually i mean, the angle is bizarre (although i'm guilty of doing crooked shots too often). for this 'photo-journalistic' style piece, i think a straight shot or a different angle would have worked better. also it is too busy for the eye to be seeing that empty space on the floor.
the tiny ballerina looks unbalanced being that low and cropped in the frame.

maybe this woulkd work better with different cropping but i dunno.

on the plus side, colors yes , technical stuff yes, and the motion vs. static is VERY well done. as photojournalism, it works, but as art, it's a bit lacking.
