At that moment, Horus came screaming in overhead. Like the pro she was, Roz spun the plane around as the VTOL jets kicked up dirt and grass, blowing debris everywhere! Heat radiated off the plane's force field. Both Casey and Jool knew the air was too hot to try and enter the craft.

Sk'lar's small group of followers ducked as the shower of dirt and heat blew across them! This made them grow even more restless. Two humans might be possible to take down, but not an armed vessel and its unknown crew.

With the engines whistling at idle Horus settled into the dirt. Casey could feel the waves of heat radiating off the plane. He and Jool should wait, but they didn't have time!

"Drop the front gear ladder, Roz, we're on our way!" Casey spoke into the comm. He brought his E shield up on both of them. It may be just enough to ward off the heat, if they hurried!

"Eniign Forea wants to..."

"Roz, if I find the Ensign out of his seat or unbelted when I enter the plane, I will have him court martialed for insubordination!" Acknowledge!"

Sk'lar cursed and turned to his followers. He took two steps forward. His men did not move!

Casey yelled."That's far enough Sk'lar." He raised his Carbine and placed Sk'lar's forehead in his sights. His augments acknowledged. "Multiple targets, prepare to engage!"

"By attempting to kill us, Sk'lar, you will only bring on more violence." exclaimed Casey. He felt his thumb flick the safety off!

"You have nothing, Casey Kane!" retorted the Shaman as he glanced about at his men. Casey realized the shaman was becoming desperate.

At that moment, K'rawl emerged from the forest. He surveyed the situation, stared at Sk'lar, then cried out, "What have you done brother!"

"What you could never do my brother, I have done!" raved the Shaman. He barely glanced over at the Tracker, who seemed too stunned to act.

"You couldn't even find the bottle of serum I dropped in the hut!" "Go back to the dark zone and stay!" The shaman turned towards the plane and took another step, but his men were reluctant. Several looked at K'rawl as if to ask for guidance.

But K'rawl squared up his shoulders. "I will not go back!" "You... are not in charge..."brother"!"

Sk'lar laughed. " I am in control now, brother!" 'One word, and my men will attack you!"

Kr'awl chuckled and touched the fangs on a string around his neck. "Which one of you is brave enough to kill me?" "Step forward and take these Sheaver fangs from my dead body!"

At that moment, Casey's left eye found the range. The metal bones in his arm locked and his metal finger squeezed the trigger, taking up what little slack there was.

"Permission to fire!" "Single target only!"
