i'm excited...and really, really hoping it does well. if it's good, it'll breathe new life into the franchise, if it bombs, it may just kill it.

Honestly, I've never been much into the 23rd century trek, so I feel I'd really have to do some investigation into that before I could feel right about seeing it. Plus Star Wars is really my baby.

nor i; i only really got into trek [specifically, voyager] within the last year and a half, but my friend has been a trekkie since tng aired, so he's been spoonfeeding me TOS for a few months now.
i havn't seen all of them, but i think i have a pretty good grasp...there are only a few eps that really are must-sees, or at least must-be-told-abouts, for one to get the background info. memory-alpha.org is a good source.
TOS is an aquired taste for many not living in the 60's, me included...often i take the ep's with a grain of salt, and remember that colored tv was the new biggest thing back then.

Yea memory alpha is almost as cool as wookieeedia. TNG is probably my favorite series, just because of Data, but voyager is great just because of the new concept. It's almost Homeric.
