Well first, this is one of my older pieces and at this point I hadn't completely adjusted to the pony style... So her legs and hooves probably look more like a stallion's than they should.
Secondly that's just how the design is. She's not my character so I have no say in the choice of elements, including the decision to go with different-colored hooves. Nothing says mares can't have that, too.
