Description
More stuff for my Machine Doll fanmade works. Here's another one of the Automaton girls who will be on the heroes' side. Although she is not owned by Vivian like the other two, Draghignazzo and Mialy are, but rather she has a much different puppeteer. Kinda have a bit more planned for this one's owner, because there's a bit more to him and he will have a much different history and function among the team than some of the others. Heck, he's no longer human anymore (but he was at one point).
She and her owner also happen to have relation to D-Works too, or at least formerly did, if any of you Machine Doll fans remember what that is.
Yes I know I already have a detachable maid character in another one of the series I make fanmade works for, Maho Shoujo, you probably have seen me draw her a lot, Jo Ayara. Well I have to admit, she is kinda recycled from Jo, although not a total copy of her. You can still see plenty of difference in her, such as with abilities related to Electromagnetism to complement her design and the ability to make them float. Plus, I think a character similar to Jo would work well in Machine Doll too, and I just love both those attributes so much. Don't wanna stick a character like that in everything I like, but maybe a few. And she's oh so cute!
Not original but it's true, I Love Maids!
For stuff on her formerly human Puppeteer, Antoine, look here.
Now for the Bio on this super cute but clumsy Maid Automaton.
Name: Amaryllis
Race: Automaton/Banned Doll
Puppeteer: Antoine
History: An experimental Automaton, Amaryllis was one of the many robots developed by D-Works' Engineers during their time of operation. She is one of the highly mana-efficient Automatons that incorporate organic tissue into her design, but are now restricted from most competitive usage. It is noted that the girl who's body, post-mortem, was used to create her was one of the early failed attempts at their "Promised Child" puppeteer experiments, whom only a couple hours after having her heart magically transformed into machinery, had suffered cardiac arrest and died. After said test subject's death, her body was kept preserved as potential material for other techno-organic Automatons, and was later used to create Amaryllis. Amaryllis was built only about a year before Yomi and Rabbi was built.
Like the majority of the robots developed by D-Works, Amaryllis wasn't initially created to be a practical robot, but rather was meant to serve as more of a proof of concept. She and several other humanoid dolls were designed to work with a new Magic Circuit dubbed the "E-Mag Magic Circuit," that bestows upon the doll powers over Electromagnetic Fields. She was also designed with several other features to make full use of this ability, including a modular design consisting of multiple bit parts held together through said Electromagnetism. Amaryllis is very much aware of why she was created, and very much resents this, knowing full well that the only reason she was born was just to try something out. Though like most of the other robots manufactured by D-works at that time, this sort of Electromagnetism Machinart technology was unheard of before, and as such Amaryllis and the other E-Mag Circuit dolls earned a great deal of respect from the Machinart Community.
After managing to get it to work successfully, the engineers experimented with possibly taking the abilities of the E-Mag Magic Circuit further, for Bronson, their founder, believed that a doll with the ability to control Magnetic Fields had the potential to be one of the most powerful dolls ever built. Such abilities could potentially bend and crush metal from a distance, or force a number of other dolls within a large radius to shut down through use of an EMP. Amaryllis and the others were frequently modified and tested to see if that could be done, pushing their abilities past the limits.
Unfortunately a major problem arose while doing this, it wasn't really how much power that could be supplied for the Automaton, but rather how much power the Automaton could handle. When tests were conducted for the dolls to utilize their electromagnetic abilities at that high of power, even when enough Mana was given, the exceptionally high voltage of the electricity they generated caused them to suffer a fatal overload and fry their own circuits, making them cease functioning afterwards. Two especially bad failed tests caused two of the E-Mag Circuit dolls to explode right in front of the engineers! They kept trying to find a means of preventing this from happening to them when exerting that much electrical power at once, but to no avail. Eventually after multiple failures, Amaryllis was the only E-Mag Circuit doll left alive. The Engineers then installed a safety limiter in her body to prevent her from discharging this unsafe amount of power.
Bronson was displeased with the results, not being what were intended with the E-Mag Magic Circuits. Amaryllis seemed to take notice on how he and the others working at D-Works were starting to neglect her, and she didn't want to no longer be useful to them. She then started to try and help out the personnel at D-Works with chores and other tasks, acting very maid-like to them, in the hopes that she'd still be useful to them if she did. Though her innate clumsiness often times just ended up with her being humiliated in front of them or having them have to clean up messes she accidentally caused.
Then, with the successful development of the Sword Angel and Garm-series Automatons, both of them proved much more promising in terms of innovation, function, efficiency, and power, when compared to Amaryllis. With those two types of robots proving more worthwhile to invest the time, resources, and funding into, plans to experiment further with the E-Mag Circuit technology fell through, and being unwilling to keep maintaining her, poor Amaryllis was then scheduled to be scrapped.
And she would have been, had it not been for a certain D-works employee named Antoine who liked her. He did not want to see such a cute and innocent robot like her go to waste, and as such he smuggled her off grounds and took her back to his own abode, saving her. For a while, he kept her hidden there, doing what he could to support her and keep her company. She accepted Antoine as her puppeteer and would frequently help him around the house, still acting like a maid, albeit a somewhat inept maid.
While keeping her there, Antoine later on figured out a way to allow Amaryllis to use her Electromagnetic Powers to their fullest extent safely, though with limited use. He achieved this through installing a series of fuses throughout her internal workings. Should Amaryllis unleash an attack of that extremely high voltage, after using the attack, the fuses installed in her body would blow, saving her from a critical overload. After which, her internal systems would automatically switch to a set of backup circuits and her safety limiter would kick in, preventing her from discharging that high amount of electricity again until the fuses are replaced.
Much later on, Amaryllis's puppeteer would end up being tricked into being used as a test subject for the first successful Soul Transmutation, an experiment done both to take what they had perfected with the successful Promised Children even further, and to acquire more human cadavers for use in construction of more Techno-Organic dolls, since after they finally perfected the Promised Children, they were running out of human cadavers for use in this, and animal carcasses weren't always going to be enough. Antoine was the first and only one to have this done on him, but did not like it. Before he could essentially be used for further unwilling experimentation, Amaryllis helped him escape the facility, using her Magnetic Powers to magnetize the metal doors long enough for them to escape. Although her puppeteer mostly lost his humanity since that day, Amaryllis wasn't going to let that change what she thought of him.
Following that event, both Antoine and Amaryllis were forced to live on their own. At times Amaryllis had tried to pose as a human for her owner, but her visible separators and easily removable body parts were always a dead giveaway. Antoine still had some organic tissue inside of him despite his now mechanical body, as for the transmutation required a tissue sample to succeed, but still the amount of Mana he could provide for Amaryllis was somewhat limited, and even Amaryllis, being a Banned Doll, would still require some from a human Puppeteer. While living out on their own, the two were also constantly on the lookout for other D-Works personnel whom they felt would be looking for them both, trying to recapture them. They were not present when D-Works was exposed for their crimes and their founder was given the death penalty, and would not know of this till later on.
Later on, Amaryllis and her puppeteer would end up finding out that their history with D-Works would end up being crucial in survival against a new surfaced threat to mankind, especially because the new enemy had more relation to D-Works than they thought. Although clumsy and somewhat limited in what she can do, Amaryllis does her best to assist them.
Personality: Amaryllis has a warm, caring personality, and always does her best to try and help others, even when she messes up. She is steadfastly loyal to her puppeteer, and strives to be a proper maid and a great Automaton. Before, this was mainly to try and prove to the D-Works personnel that she could still be useful to them. Although she's no longer with them, she still continues to act this way towards others out of force of habit. Amaryllis though is a very clumsy maid and often times ends up making mistakes when performing chores and servitude, much to her embarrassment. She often acts very apologetic when she does. Also though normally a sweet robot, she she can get feisty if she feels like she is being talked down to. Also Amaryllis cannot bring herself to discard items that can still be useful to humans, often getting emotional because it reminds her of herself.
Despite her being somewhat inept as a maid, she is quite skilled in battle. Even with her limitations put from her built-in safety limiter, she can fight with exceptional skill and has at times even won out against opponents larger than herself. She only uses her full voltage attacks in emergencies since she is aware of them having limited usage. She has never fought for a competitive battle, but mainly out of self-defense and back when she was being tested on. Amaryllis believes that her combat abilities are the only thing that prevents her from being worthless to her puppeteer, Antoine.
Like the other Banned Dolls, Amaryllis can eat just like a regular person. Her favorite food is cake and other pastry-themed sweets. Amaryllis requires her head to be attached on in order to do so though.
Also Amaryllis sometimes uses her detachable body parts in other ways than just for battle. She loves it when another person holds and snuggles her head, and she also likes to carry her head on a serving tray, for she thinks it looks cute. At times she has also tried to pose as a human, but her visible detach points on her body and how easily her body parts come off has been a dead giveaway every time. She is somewhat disheartened by this that she cannot do a good job at appearing to be an ordinary human maid to others.
Recently Amaryllis has also taken a sort of liking for Frey. She feels that she'd probably do some very ecchi things to Frey without a second thought if the two of them were left together for too long, and tries her best to hold back. Regardless of her will power, at times she still cannot help herself with Frey, being so aroused by Frey's voluptuousness.
Abilities: Amaryllis's fighting style can be described as very versatile. Her abilities revolve mainly around Electromagnetism, and ones centered around her modular body. She possesses the ability to discharge powerful electric shocks from herself and attract or repel metal objects that she touches, though only to a certain extent. Her electric attacks only can be discharged a short distance from her limbs, or in-between the spaces between her limbs when they are detached. The amount of electricity she can discharge or the magnetic force she can create is limited by her internal safety limiter used to prevent her from overloading herself. She can also do things with this ability such as walk on metal walls and ceilings, or magnetize metal doors to keep them shut for an amount of time.
In addition to this, as an ability designed to complement her magnetic abilities, Amaryllis is unique from most other Automatons in that her body is composed of a series of segments held together by powerful electromagnetic forces. This allows her to dislocate parts of her body and make them levitate, then reattach them just as easily. She has detach points located at her neck, two around her abdomen, four on her arms, and two at her thighs just above her legs. This greatly increases her evasion, as for she can separate her body to avoid incoming attacks, as well as by making her parts float, can increase her reach greatly, as well as use it to attack from multiple angles simultaneously. Amaryllis has a number of other creative uses for said ability too, as well as likes to use it a lot outside of battle as well. One last benefit of this is that her modular design helps facilitate repairs on her as well.
Thanks to the fuses installed in her body as a means of protecting her from damaging her own internal workings from using too much electric power at once, Amaryllis has some much more powerful special attacks too, including a destructive Lightning Blast with a huge radius, magnetically throwing a metal foe a great distance, or a large-radius EMP that causes all Automatons within the radius to shut down for a period of time. After using one of these extremely high-voltage special attacks, the fuses blow in order to save her from a critical overload, and then her systems switch to a set of backup circuits and her safety limiter kicks in, preventing her from using it again until the fuses are replaced. As such, she only uses these Special Attacks in emergencies.
Last but not least, Amaryllis is a Banned Doll, so she can sustain mana by herself better than others, making her not completely reliant on her puppeteer, Antoine. Especially helpful due to Antoine's new body has limited the amount of Mana he can provide for her.
Amaryllis' individual body parts can only float a certain distance from her, until the magnetic field loses strength from being too far away, which also is about the same distance that she can send remote signals between them. There is a cutoff point of a 60m Diameter from where her feet touch the ground as to how far she can use her separated limbs. If one goes any further from the cutoff point, she loses all control of that body part. This includes levitation, electrical and magnetic discharges, and her consciously using that body part altogether. However, her puppeteer, Antoine, has managed to rectify this limitation a little bit by carrying Amaryllis's legs for her, as it serves as a foothold for her to stand on.
Also though it is useful for dodging, Amaryllis's individual body parts are not that durable. If she is split up too much and one gets a hold of them, the enemy can do all sorts of things to her body parts. Her Heart of Eve power unit is located within her upper body.
Amaryllis' abilities can also be nullified by electricity conducting materials such as rubber. It is also dangerous for her to use her abilities underwater, as for water conducts electricity and could potentially harm herself as well as anyone in the water with her at the time.
• Shock Arm (1-5): The name given to Amaryllis's basic attack. She launches her hand off at the enemy and discharges electricity either from it, or from the space between herself and the arm. Grabbing onto the arm in midair can result in being electrocuted, usually enough to do serious damage to the foe or stun them. At times she also uses magnetism to either grab on to the foe and keep her grip, or to help guide the arm to the enemy. Since all Automatons have at least some metal in their bodies, this gives her an advantage.
• Magnet Arm (1-3): An attack used to immobilize enemies. Amaryllis temporarily magnetizes another metal object, causing them to be pulled towards the closest other metal object, or repelled away from other metal objects, depending on what she sets the polarity to. The range and time is somewhat limited though, and she has to touch the object in order to magnetize it. She can also only affect one target at a time. Amaryllis has also found use in it to temporarily seal metal doors.
• Detachable Dodge: When Amaryllis notices an incoming attack, she quickly splits apart to avoid harm, increasing her evasion.
• Magnet Zipline: Amaryllis first launches her arm off at a point, then she attracts the rest of her body straight to where it lands, acting almost like a grappling hook to propel her over chasms, though this can also be used as an attack to launch herself at an enemy like a torpedo if her arm manages to grab onto an enemy instead.
• Magnet Tether: Using her magnetic abilities, Amaryllis can cling to walls and ceilings, provided they are made of metal.
• Tesla Strike: A new ability Amaryllis later invents. Amaryllis rearranges her body to vaguely make a sort of gun with it, then loads her head in as a projectile. In a manner similar to that of a Coilgun, she charges her head and fires it as a projectile with serious range and force. She does not like to use this ability though, as for often times her head falls out of range and then she has to run over and pick her head back up.
The following next attacks are the ones that require a much more dangerously high amount of power for Amaryllis to use, and always result in her fuses blowing to prevent this attack from causing her a fatal overload.
• EMP: Amaryllis separates all of her body parts and spins them around, and then surrounds a number of enemies within a large radius to block their escape, and making it difficult to hit her while in progress. Then Amaryllis then emits high-powered Electromagnetic Pulses from all of her body parts that cause Automatons caught in the radius to be deactivated for a period of time. While using this though, Amaryllis's legs remain on the ground, leaving them open for attack. After using this move, her internal fuses blow, and she cannot use it again until the fuses are replaced. Requires a lot of Mana to use too.
• Thunder Raid: Amaryllis holds her arms up into the air, then discharges ultra high voltage bolts of electricity from them. Following that, up to 5 bolts of lightning come down from the sky to shock enemies and do critical damage. Amaryllis can control the trajectory of where the lightning bolts strike. After using this move, her internal fuses blow, and she cannot use it again until the fuses are replaced. Requires a lot of Mana to use too.

Glad you did, Machine Doll needs more love. So much cuteness and action. I was told it doesn't count as a Magical Girl show though. Also Charlotte is my personal fav.
Did you see the other Machine Doll Fanchars I have, like Vivian, Mialy, and Draghignazzo? They're also very good.
I have a whole fanmade continuation series in the works for this. Mine though evolves the conflict from a competitive matching situation to a full on man vs machine conflict, where Rogue Dolls start abducting people and launching mass scale attacks, and they have to do something about it.
Amaryllis is going to be one of the new good dolls helping Yaya and the others fight the Rogue Dolls. Also you should see the part with D-Works, bth Amaryllis was formerly a creation of their's, and the Rogue Doll threat in mine is related to D-Works as well.

You really should, it's so action packed and cute. If you can handle a few ecchi moments and harsh content like characters being experimented on, one enemy who is a literal serial killer, and another cute human girl becoming suicidal, I'd totally recommend it. Has some other super awesome and cute robot girls too.
