Dear doctor,

Today I saw another phenomenal piece of artwork. It was better than anything i could ever do, probably done by someone as young as me but far better off in life than i am. Once again, i sunk into that dark, familiar place. It hurt, and i found it hard to breathe. But then i found this old sketch. I started on it months ago and never finished it. I followed your advice and started coloring, then shading, then coloring it again, then shading it again. I think it took about two hours, but i finished the piece now. I call it, "Sunset Express." I like sunsets; they calm my mind.

By working on this piece, i slowly but surely crawled my way out of that dark place, back into the light.

This illness that i have, we both know there is no cure for it. But i can't help but think we're making progress together. Slow as it may, we're making progress.

And it feels good.
