Description
I think its done, maybe...Modded Denix Colt civil war revolver. leather grips, brassy bits at the front. Extended the grip so its more comfy.
Holster is modded too, I didn't make it, just cut and stretched it.
The scope is non functional, and actually makes things smaller, it just wasn't right the other way 'round.
Might need another trigger...dunno.
at some point I'll take better shots of it by itself.

Thank you sir!
I May have plans to do a (very) limited run of them, with holsters. I do also take commissions...

This is amazingly cool!
How exactly did you make it?

Thanks!
It is based on a cast aluminum replica of a colt navy revolver, which I cut up a bit and added parts to.
The sight was made from some sort of brass clock bracket, some lenses I had laying around, and various bits of brass stock that I cut and wrapped around the lenses. The front part was made from stretching and hammering a brass tube over the barrel.
The grip I extended by cutting a brass plate and tapping it and the base of the original grip, and machine screwing them together. I then wrapped that with leather. I think the trigger guard is part of a brass drafting compass, but I've so many bits and parts laying around I'm never sure where they came from, haha.

Very cool piece of work, but why is the sight on the side that it is? You'd have to hold the gun weird to be able to sight down it judging by the picture on the bottom right.

Thanks!
the sight is on the right because of the open top on the colt, and that it would be hard to holster if it were on the left. you really don't have to hold it any differently to look down the sight, but it makes things smaller anyway, lol.

Topnotch work! I also love that it has its own holster.

I had originaly thought of going with a LeMat revolver, but it would have been waaay to browncoat.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

"at some point I'll take better shots of it by itself." Yeah I was going to say I would love to see this piece without so much going on in the background. Get some contrast and highlighting in the photo so we can see the details better. Very nice though.

I honestly took the shots so I could say "there, its done" and quit fiddling with it. Once I'm sure its done I'll take more shots.
Thanks.

Heh, I know what you mean, I tend to do the same thing. "There! It's done! I took a picture, that proves it!" ten minutes later "Wait, no, I had another idea." I love how steampunk work lends itself to this constant liminal state of finished-not-finished-ness. XD Look forward to seeing the next phase of finished-ness.

Amazing mod to a beautiful gun. I prefer this to the re-painted nerf guns I see so often. Love the weathered finish!
