yea, it depends on how much physics you put on the object and in the surroundings and how powerful the physics are too. I tried making smoke come out of a flask but it didnt turn out well and my laptop almost froze

idk it's complicated XD. if you want to try and see would have to play around in blender yourself...I don't normally use the physics so I dont know all the ins and outs. But I know for a fact that using smoke with some other physics lags my laptop.
