This comic took me FOREVER....UGH.... like...I sketched it out and colored it MONTHS ago, but then dropped it and forgot about it because it was taking so long...
and now I forced myself back into it and I've worked on the shading all week.....kjgjkhjHSDGJH this took too long ..im so glad its over with ..I've got homework to do now....dsgjfgh
there were going to be more butterflies in Hawkmoth's lair, but I found they can be a little distracting? I like to have the sense of isolation between Adrien and Hawkmoth during this discovery trip.

Arien Agreste’s character is difficult to work with, because of how he’s been shaped.
Originally, he was supposed to be this Draco Malfoy character in the original PV for the show. Very cold hearted, he was the image of bad luck and negativity. As Chat Noir, he was almost a totally different person, but the same Chat Noir we know in the current show.

But Adrien Agreste we know now, is super different because the creators didn’t see him as likable, they couldn’t figure out what Marinette saw in a guy like that, and they doubted the audience would be happy with such a douchebag.

However, they’ve upped Adrien’s character in positivity/personality too much for my taste.

Adrien is a child subjected to isolation and the heavy burden of fame ever since his birth.

He has heavy expectations and standards put on him by his father, the industry, and the public.

His only close friend was Chloe, who grew up to be a cruel spoiled brat.

While Adrien gets most of his looks and personality from his mother; someone we don’t know anything about yet, he clearly has a caring heart. He loved his mother dearly, and from the picture he drew of his parents when he was young, his father seemed to have a good relationship with him.

But ever since his mother’s disappearance, (a year or so ago) his relationship with his father has rapidly declined. His home is like a glorified prison, his bodyguards / managers are very cold to him and his friends.

He and his father never eat together, nor do they really see eye to eye.

His father schedules massive activities for him, signs of an overprotective, patronizing parent who has a tendency to manipulate and disregard their child.

Isolated Children with overprotective and neglectful parents are usually known to amass mental illness.

But Adrien shows none of those. (Well…aside from maybe Stockholm Syndrome)

He is super positive, extremely active, almost never tired from his forced daily activities. He doesn’t seem to struggle with his idol persona despite how inconvenient it is for him to be out in public, or make friends for that matter.

And despite his father not ever having time for him, despite his father having a copy of the miraculous book the entire time and yet still had a massive tantrum over it: grounding Adrien and forbade him from returning to school, and threw his childhood drawing across the room, shattering the glass in its frame……Adrien forgives him.

Gabriel Agreste in general is not a good person. He’s cold and manipulative. He’s manipulated his own employees, old friends, Adrien’s friends, innocent people of Paris. He’s turned them all into monsters. He’s put the Mayor’s daughter in danger. (I think Adrien and Chloe’s moms were close friends?)

He’s put his own son, as both Adrien and Chat Noir, in massive danger through his actions. And he doesn’t always seem to care.

He wants the Miraculous. He wants to grab the Miraculous from two teenage kids. For what? To bring his wife back?

He is aware of the equivalent exchange the power granted may bring if he obtains them. (at least from what we’ve been told)

He might get his wife back wherever she is, but he also might lose Adrien.

and no matter how cruel his father can be, Adrien forgives and loves him.

He harbors no resentment, has no depression / anxiety symptoms, and is just an overly sweet kid. A little too sweet.

So naturally I wanna make his heart shatter. /: )

I absolutely cannot wait for this family drama (which unfortunately is probably seasons away considering the horrific plot pacing in the show)

but seriously tho someone get Adrien’s adoption papers

Gabriel Agreste needs to be arrested effective immediately
