This is proof that there is some sense after all in Nintendo being as strict as it has been with its IPs.
If Nintendo allowed a cartoon like this to be made and had strict control over the show, I believe that the most favorable choice of art style for the series would be an Americanized, more cartoony version of the style used for the modern 2D Mario artworks. That way, it would be very presentable both as a cartoon and as an adaptation of the games.

Wait, did CN own the rights to the original or was it another studio because if it was another studio...I blame them for the reboot, not the channel...that is like blaming Nintendo for Sonic Boom even though an entire different company and studio technically created it (I also like the artstyle ironically so that makes me an asshole :/.........also ice job)
