Edit: I am glad everyone likes the image and very pleased that this got a DD :3 However, I'm afraid the DD description is misleading. This is not an anthro in any way. It's a guy in a mask. Go look up plague doctors. They are very interesting.plague doctor, one of my visual fascinations. Here is my own, personal version.
My first experiment with acrylic ink. I think I'm in love.

I still love this.
Even though my BIGGEST fear in the world is the Plague, so I have yet to look on Wiki or anything because I've been terrified of such disease since I was little.. so that holds my curiosities back from learning more. It's ridiculous how much it scares me. D:

Plauge doctor? The doctors that used to wear cones full of "medicines" on their faces when they worked on the victims of the plauge? Wow thats really a neat interpretation. I always thought of them as being bird-like as well. ;D

Jeeze you're good at coloring. I don't know much about this "plague doctor", but I am sufficiantly creeped out. Your gold/leather is a little soft for gold, metalic for leather, but still intriguing!

this reminds me of something i saw in a medieval woodcut. those masks were full of herbs or something. kind of like the first gas masks. interesting and very scary pic.

OOOH visual sex XD! YOU GOTS ACRYLIC INKS? *GASPSandflounders* You must tell me what kinds and wheres so I can copy-er-follow in yer footsteps XD. Really like the background in this one. OH if you do more stuff like this, submit it to the Califur '08 conbook..their theme is "the future is steam" or something, Jules Vern themed type stuff..gears..cogs and other fun stuff. this makes me think of their theme anyway.

It's this marvelous substance that is very much like acrylic, but is much smoother and thinner. It can behave like acrylic paint, and also like watercolor. There is no clumping.

so... does it come in pen form or tubes like regular acrylics?

It comes in the form of a little bottle with an eyedropper lid, like a lot of inks. At least, the one oz. ones. Those are the ones I have.

At first I didn't know who he was but when I read more about these plague doctors, this picture started to look very threatening.
Very dark and powerfull picture. It's hard to tell what the person is thinking behind that mask. His mask seems to be smiling but who knows how he's really feeling. He's mysterious and fascinating at the same time.
