Edit: I am glad everyone likes the image and very pleased that this got a DD :3 However, I'm afraid the DD description is misleading. This is not an anthro in any way. It's a guy in a mask. Go look up plague doctors. They are very interesting.plague doctor, one of my visual fascinations. Here is my own, personal version.
My first experiment with acrylic ink. I think I'm in love.

I like that, it nice to see you used the old plauge mask of the brid, it really nice to see what they may of looked in the day then the old falling apart ones i seen in the malus.

Oh my. You've been getting creepier these last few weeks (especially after all those pictures of bright things with feathered wings) but this seems to take the cake.
All I can say is that I am very grateful that medical science has left these 'quacks' behind - I think their get-up scares me more than their dubious medical practises.
Still, you can't deny they make a good subject for a rather disturbing picture.
At least this one didn't involve surgery.

That's how I imagined them to be as well, plus the beakful of herbs also was for warding off the disgusting smell of sickhouses full of plague victims.... It didn't smell nice...

It's funny that when I saw the tiny thumbnail I thought. 'Hm, that looks something like a plague doctor' but didn't think it really was and was wowed to see that's what it indeed was. Very cool. It's very neat and interesting take on the subject. Nice job!

this is fantastic. I love the bright highlights (some cross-hatch) and everything about the mask: the metal on the end of the beak, the strap, it looks like a very real mask. I like the hat, it reminded me of a morbid willy wonka lol. i love this, it's 'fantasy' style and mysterious..and wow@that background.

AH. These guys always freak me out, no matter how many times I see them in history books and in other places. Those plague doctors... I'd be scared to death if I lived then. Especially of them. They're super creepy.

Eerie and beautiful, this piece finally made me research the purpose of those masks, which I've always had a fascination with, even without knowing their purpose. I really love how you created a sense of focus by using details on the face, and fewer on the body and background
