Description
A very rare and almost perfect view from the capital city of Quito in Equador towards the volcano Rucu Pichincha. Rare because most of the time there are clouds hanging around this volcano that are formed by the damp atmosphere that arises from the tropical Amazon rainforrest.This photo was taken with a Nikon F801 with 300 mm lens and Fujifilm 400 ISO

Yes it is, but not very dangerous. It is a volcano with a so-called "open crater" so there is no pressure build-up that creates cataclistic explosions.

It is actually not noise but the grain from the 400 ISO film. It gets a kind of graphic effect so it didn't bother me really. Thanks for the nice comment!

That makes sense - I nearly used the word "grain", but I'm out of the habit of thinking in terms of film! Actually, I used to be a big fan of the creative use of grain effects, but I've obviously become affected by the modern mania for "sharpness"
