Although I think about making separate versions like - free with less materials (more common ones) and buyable with more options (like for hair, because bright hair looks better with SSS instead of difuse, but takes more time to render).
How's that idea for you?

I didn't decide yet. dA points would be easier for people (I think), but I don't spend any of those points (beside one moment where I sent 200p to get something so ugly I wonder why I even bothered).
And when it comes to money... Well... There's never enough of them.

Well, it depends.. if you'd want to offer it for real money- and the price isn't too high so that even "students" or just young people could afford it, then I think you'd still have enough people wanting it!
