Description

"Since time immemorial, Lord Death has sent his children of shadows, the Phantoms, to our realms to collect mortal souls. Now that might sound dangerous and scary, but they do not engage in social interactions with mortals, nor do they pose a threat to us. It is said that they are reclusive creatures, and only rise from their world to ours when a contract is active. And even on rarer occasions will they bring a weapon in self defense against a hostile mortal. But who would be so filled with ill intent and evil that a Phantom would come to hunt them down aggressively?"

Most of the time, Phantoms only rise to the surface of the mortal world when they have a contract active. And once in a blue moon will a Phantom have to arrive armed against their contract. When someone is close to death, or their "expiration date" is nigh, that individual will start to hallucinate creatures of mysterious design. Some say they claim to see an angel that brings them light and guides them peacefully to their next path. Some say that these are creatures with no face and wear white robes and only follow in the shadows. Some might even say that they are demons that have come to haunt their past traumas.

All of these assumptions are correct; in some way.

Phantoms are agents of Lord Death who come to the realm of mortals in search of their contract. Each contract consists of someone who is nearing their 'Expiration Date'. The phantoms find them and make a decision on what to do with their soul. Either harvesting it and gaining power or send them to the next life. And on some occasions a phantom can even convert the soul into a wisp, which starts the life process of another phantom.

I want to explain more with the lore of Phantoms and the Underworld, but I'm not quite sure how yet. I'll be working on it more soon ^-^ Sorry for the long description, I just really love talking about these guys!
