3CH speedpainting!Anybody not knowing what 3CH is:
It's a topic generator, created by the Montreal Concept Designers at Ubisoft. [link]
It gives absolutely weird topics that are challenging to depict.
Conceptart.org has set up a 3CH of the week activity, this week the topic is:
A wet shrimp robot strikes a hard-rock musician aboard a ship
PS 7, around 1.5 hours, no ref.

Dieser "shrimp" ist toll. so detailliert!
Ich finde es sehr gut, dass du den Rest nicht so genau gezeichnet hast, denn so tritt der Shrimp in den Vordergrund. Das Schimmern/Leuchten sieht sehr gut aus. Und sie wirkt elegant.
Die Perspektive macht alles dramatischer. Erinnert mich wieder an einen Kameraschwenk. Probier dich doch mal als Kameramann aus, vielleicht entdeckst du neues ^^

Haven't had the motivation to touch 3CH ever since getting owned in the 'An insane tripod greets a scarecrow in a cemetary' :S
Clever idea with the ladder. I rigged brushes for tank treads, hexagonal patterns and zippers but that use is new to me.

This is fantastic. The sense of movement and action is really reinforced by the dynamic positioning of the ship [which gives a great sense of scale and depth too]. The shrimp is a dead nifty design, with some really cool detailing. As someone else said, it looks very fluid, very supple, and very energetic. The guitar flying off the side of the ship is a wonderful touch.

i love how the shrimp is animal like yet, machanical, its very interesting, and the color choices are awesome, the way you made the boat look rusty and everything. were the stairs difficult, or did you make one, set it as a brush and use it over and over?

yup, the stairs are a custom brush. In fact, it was done in one stroke thanks to spacing control in Photoshop
