Ok, this has been lying on my hard-drive for quite some time, but I finally wanted to post it (don't ask why I only do that now...)!
Well, I had started this back in autumn last year, hence the theme of the image...
I had been practising 3D modelling in the hiding, so this is one of my first combinations of 3D modelling and painting.
The tank was modelled in Wings which is a very powerful but free tool! All the rest and overpainting was done in Photoshop.
I like the pilot...

EDIT: oh yeah, here is an interesting side-info about the image:
see that little airplane in the sky? that is actually a 3D model of one of my airplane concepts as seen in my speedpainting called "White Queen".
I plan to create something with that as well, hehe...

The deep blue in the sky is breathtaking. I love the lighting, especially the dramatic shadows on the robot. Autumn's my favourite season. xD Beautiful work, I really like this scene.

kool - downloaded . . . just need to take it home and put on comp . . . what does 'open GL' mean?
will it cause a problem if my mouse is only 2 button with scroll? it says needs 3. . .

oh yeah! You actually really need a scroll button mouse! No way arounf it. Otherwise you can't rotate around your model and look at it from different viewpoints.
Open GL is just a standard real time 3D shader. It allows you to quickly view the model in simple shaded mode.

oh good, i have a scoll button, but i thought that it was gonna need the three button mouse (which i thiought were obsolete)

Sehr schönes Bild!
Das 3D-Gefährt fügt sich schön in den Rest des Bildes ein ohne wie ein Fremdkörper zu wirken.
Das einzige, was mir ein wenig missfällt, ist die etwas zu übertrieben verzerrte Perspektive der Gebäude im Hintergrund (dafür sind sie meiner Meinung nach zu weit weg) - aber ansonsten top!

danke! Ja, die Perpsektive der Gebäude stimmt nicht so gut mit der des tanks überein. MIr wird auch immer klarer, dass ich's da mit der Verzerrung etwas übertrieben hab...

I used Wings3D - a FREE 3D application, just google for it!
And it's one of the easiest modelling tools I have ever come across, just awesome!

I do not understand why you had done a vertical vanishing point.
the perspective in the gackground seems exaggerated to me.

That's damn nice, a really awesome concept with the robot-things. I'm not so sure about the spherical sculpture towards the bottom though, it looks a little out of place to me.
