I didn't want to miss the chance to participate in this Ghibli themed contest.It was also nice to try something very different than what I usually paint and also experiment with style.
This was the first idea that came to mind when I learned about the themes of the film and I went with it.
I hope you like this little tribute.

I would have liked it if Jiro's sister Kayo got a spinoff. Β From what we saw of her, she was trying to become a doctor. Β No, not a nurse, a doctor. Β That is a woman in a traditionally male field in the 1930's. Β I wonder if there are any fanfictions of Kayo, I think what I just described combined with being a doctor during World War II would make an interesting story.
