Description
THIS DOUBLES AS A THANK YOU FOR 3000 PAGE VEIWSI LOVE YOU ALL! SRSLY!
Anyway, this was done mostly at school as an realism attempt, The shading was a nightmare because I couldn’t really figure out where the clothing was meant to fall so it became a blur of lines which make no sense.
Overall, I put a bucketload of effort into this.
Hope you like it ^_^

Thats really good! The pose is spot on and theres a really nice impression of movement.
Did you draw it with pencils or pens? The reason I am asking is because if it was with pencils an easy way to improve the shading on the clothes would be to blend outward from the creases. Basically smoothing the contrast between dark and light. And if possible reduce some of the dark areas. I don't tend to use pens and ink but the theory would be the same. It needs more midtones if you know what I mean
As far as how to draw the creases - that comes with practice. Copying photographs of similar subjects is a really good way to get a feel for how to draw certain things.
Other than the faults you pointed out yourself this is a fantastic piece of work. Well done xxx

Thank you very much ^_^
With pencils - My scanner mashes up everything I put in it, I really need a new one or to change the "lightness setting" Which my friend says is down
Ooh? You blend outward from the creases? I just went mad with my finger I'll keep the mid tones in mind, thank you for the tips!
Thank you ^_^!

Your welcome. And yeah my scanner always seems to magnify every smudge and mistake I make.
As much as your finger will work to a point it creates a inconsistent blend. I use tortillons - you can buy them or just roll up a piece of paper as tightly as you possibly can starting from a corner so that it creates a point. then use it like a pencil to blend. This creates a really smooth effect.
Good luck anyway and I hope I have been of some help with the technical side. I just wish you could teach me how to be as creative as you
xXx

he he - when you roll up the paper it is called a tortillon. You can buy them but rolled up paper works just as well.
And thank you for the compliments
