Okay maybe not a full lesson yet, but hey! Two of the players in the history of the Etona/Cydonia faction split, Tab and Adea are magic-capable highlanders who nevertheless leave Cydonia with the exiled non-magical highlanders due to how messed up it was of the king to suddenly turn on half the country, give or take Tab also wanting to follow his commanding officer, and Adea wanting to follow hers, who happens to be Tab, but still!
As for their look, I was prompted to go full bore '80s/90s fantasy anime' with them, and hell, any excuse to drum up the classic FF sprite tradition of "how can you tell she's a girl unless she's in a swimsuit??" is fine by me! Also, this is far enough in the past when Highlanders still occasionally had pointy elf-like ears due to the goddess' bloodline still being rather fresh, so Tab there is still a human even with the pointedness.
These guys ended up being super endearing despite being ancient history bit characters in our universe, so naturally they also have alternate Eorzean versions on FF14 as well. Also super happy with the Adea this time compared to the last time I butchered her hair/head situation!
