Description My first attempt at a CP drawing...
14"x17" on Bristol Vellum
Used graphite pencils, a little bit of charcoal, and colored pencils. I experimented with the watercolor pencils, and a colorless blender. It was fun and challenging!

As usual, you did a phenomenal job! The detail of the head and especially the eye is amazing. What is your next project?

Nice work, been thinking of doing a CP drawing after my next piece.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks Carl!
I did a grid, and did the main outline, etc. with graphite. I also shaded alot of the dark areas. From there, I just worked on one section at a time. Started with the shell, which is where I experimented with the watercolor. Then I moved to the eye, and head, and worked my way down. After that, I did the outstretched leg, then all of the grass and weeds.
I found it was best to go light, and use the colorless blender to help darken and smooth the transitional areas.

This was my first attempt, so I am just a "rookie", but I will certainly help you with whatever I can!

So basically, the same way I do a graphite drawing, but using a colourless blender instead of tissue/cotton/tortillion?
I think the hardest part will be getting the right skin tones for drawing a portrait, but beginning to wonder if that's so important, seeing as skin tones change with the light settings anyway.
Thanks HE, appreciate your help.
